just got a new M14x yesterday and it seems that the speakers do a crackling sound occassionaly for some reason. It happens on cue at every restart during BIOS post and most of the way through windows boot, then seems to largely stop (apart from a few very quiet ones every few mins - barely noticeable unless you listen for it) when the driver gets loaded.... which is bizzare.

anyone got a similar thing? Or have the monkeys just left a speaker cable loose/touching some metal you think?

seems like every time I order a Dell I have to strip the whole damn thing down and rebuild it properly, its why my last machine was a Sony. I thought they might have changed in the past 2 years... but not so sure now.

    any thoughts?
