I will be getting my M14x just about any day now and I really wanna take good care of it im gonna get an SSD for it as well as a cooling pad to help keep it from overheating and hopefully keep the power and battery relatively healthier over the years. Ive narrowed it down to these 2 choices now and im stuck. I was thinking the U3 cuz it has 3 fans better venting( the stand is open not enclosed) however idk just how good it is for only about 20$ in addition can u use it on ur lap? or only desks and tables etc. Now the Strike Force has all the leds usbs "bells and whistles" but i just want the best for cooling. This thing is about double the price of the U3 and it comes with 4 usb ports...why? Idk but anyway the fans look a bit enclosed in the design and idk how well it can vent, might trap the heat inside. However this one can be used on your lap or lying in bed with that 1600x900 "in bed computing" Anyway please leave your thoughts and comments and your experience with either of this products, or any other cooling stand. I want the one that cools the best for a reasonable price.

I don't see why you would consider the Cooler Master U3. The third fan would be about useless. Only 2 vents on the bottom of the m14x. I'd get the Cooler Master U2 first.

i think strike force.. cause thing bout m14x it's not just the vent needed fresh air.. i can felt the warm all over the bottom.. which is why i went for CM X2.. initially i was going for ergostand.. but i can get 2 X2 with the same price so i bought 2.. one at office and one at home.. the large quiet fan and full surface bottom air flow was the criteria i got it..
i was thinking of U2 but didn't get it for the coverage reason.. ofcourse if you got the budget.. strike force -

Coverage reason?

active air flow coverage.. the big fan designs like the x2, ergostand, strike force, zalman have full bottom coverage..
some other design like the u2 and some other multi fan design have pin point fans design.. which focus more on critical part with active airflow and other area depends on passive air flow..
it's just my own opinion that i prefer full coverage.. so i can also blow some cool air into those warm casing.. thou it might be useless since those area aren't design to sink heat and need no attention.. hehe.. -

I just ordered the U2 and it works great, definitely keeps the fan noise down on the laptop and the laptop also fits on the underside of the stand like a protective case.
very good deal for all of $30 w/ tax and shipping -
