    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar problem where opening the lid I have noticed that the clear plastic cover in front of the LCD is coming away at the top, it is simple to fix by gently pushing on the top of the screen and it clicks back in place, but it is very annoying to have to do this every time.

I called Alienware support and was told that it was caused by user damage, I am at a loss how opening and closing the screen can cause this problem?

    Thanks

Call back and talk to another rep. As long as you are in your warranty period, there is no reason why this cant be replaced (IMO).

Being told that its 'user damage' - hmmm.. how can a phone rep determine that from a phone call? C'mon. Seriously, call back and talk to someone else. If you receive the same response, escalate it and ask to speak to a supervisor. We're talking about a display panel replacement under warranty. *sigh*

If you are out of warranty, forget it.

Thanks BatBoy, my thoughts exactly, to be honest I did ask the question in fairly strong terms how they gauged it was user induced damage and was told that the supervisor felt that way and therefore I would have to pay for it to be fixed.

They have now asked me to send in photo's.... I would quite happily send in a photo of the problem although a video of opening the screen would probably be clearer. Just annoys me that Alienware fight everytime I call them with an issue (Which isn't very often). They also said they would send me an email to reply to with the copy of the photos and I am still waiting for it.

    Not at all impressed

    Cheers for your advice :)
