Try re installing command center. Download the newer version from your dell support website and install that one.
DO NOT install from the Command Center DVD you got with your laptop .

It's with your laptop since I've never had problems on A05. Never had a BSOD on this Alienware yet *knock knock*. You can disable AlienFX by right-clicking the Command Center icon and Disable

He already stated that by pressing Fn+AlienFX key, it shows " Alienfx disabled" so that command is working fine but the software is not responding to the command.

Hi, just wondering if the op got the alienfx lighting to work properly yet. I have the same exact problem since updating my bios to a05. I can no longer disable lighting and cannont change the lighting either. I previously had the a02 bios on my system.

p.s. I found this page through google search. I didn't realize the op has the m14x. I'm having this problem on the m18x.

I've noticed the one on the website is actually older than the one I have installed. I have 2.6.14.0 installed but can only find 2.6.8.0 for download on Dell Support. Where are we supposed to download new versions from?

If you actually read the file name it said " Alienware Command Center Not A00 R296137 ", so I think maybe because of the version you had is having problem, that is why replace it with the older version. Maybe the OP also had that version that why that your Command Centre or your keyboard is corrupt, because according to Dell if you use the Command Centre from the Resource DVD, it might corrupt the firmware on your system board. But it wouldnt hurt to try to reinstall the command centre again to see if it fix, and if not, then call Dell for keyboard replacement.
