Can someone explain me how switchable graphics work in new AW14? or what I'm doing wrong

So here is the thing, I have already like 3 days with my new AW14, I have been testing some games:

    Borderlands 2
    Need For Speed: Hot Pursit
    Bioshock Infinite

Just these 3 for the moment, I used to have an M14xR1, when I put one of these games, the nvidia graphics card just star working and there is a small icon in the clock area that shows it was working, just like these:

Ok I understand how it works, you run the game, the graphic card start to work, you close the game, Intel graphics start to work, something like that, so here in the new AW14 we have (more less) the same system, one with both card working "together" AND only nvidia graphics working alone, but, when I'm on integrated/discrete mode, besides the activity monitor of the GPU shows that the game its running with the discrete graphics, it just not work, FPS with Bioshock are very, very slow, Borderlands 2 give many errors and close, and NFSHP just crash when its starting, I dont know if this is normal, every time I want to play I need to press fn+F5 to go to discrete mode only, in that way games work excellent, so its not a problem with my graphic card, the control panel of nvidia its configured ok, so I dont know if this is normal, I hope some help from here the experts :)

    Thanks for reading me

BTW just data, I have windows 8 and went down to win 7 (Many practice doing that on my M14x :p) installed all the drivers.

It may be that in fact, try PM'ing my partner. He is taking a deeper look into that issue along with our engineers.

Did the new A03 BIOS fix the issue with 765 throttling when Optimus in engaged? I'm attempting to test whether or not this is the case, but can't get the GPU above 64C running Furmark at 1080p 8xAA for 10 minutes. Maybe the fan tables were tweaked in the new BIOS?

So, you need to restart the computer between switching (ridicoulus, I know). so FN+F5, then restart. it will switch during the restart
