    I'm furious.

Any m14x owner, can you go here http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv273/XxAlbertoxX/Untitled.png.

Max out the pic. What do you see? Look closely, TOP LEFT CORNER.

Yeah, one small speck right? Well BS. I paid 2k. I'm angry and horribly dissapointed. Why if it's a dead pixel do I go to "personalize" then "windows toolbar" and If I hit transparent it dissapears but if I keep "transparent" off you cans see a small speck? It even changes colors matching the toolbar....

i see it when i zoom in 300%. It's very small and hardly noticeable. If you want you can return your comp, dell has a "No Dead Pixel Guarantee".

I'm awaiting a new m14x because mine has 3 dead pixels, and a big white blob. Problem is, mine is a defective screen altogether. The dead pixels show up in SS, but the big white dot doesn't because its in the screen itself. :/ oh well. i'm having fun experimenting with this one since i'm not going to be keeping it.

Oh you mean that white little greyish or grey-white dot at the very top-end left? I just see that too, but for me it is okay since it is not in the middle though, and that spot I rarely look at it.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about.

BUT look, I just took this one:
    http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/vv273/XxAlbertoxX/no_pixel.png

    It's gone now....

You have to max out both images to 100% to see it on the TOP LEFT CORNER.

But if It were a deadpixel it wouldn't dissapear, so what is it?

I'm telling you, can you guys "rightclick" your desktop and go to "personalize" then go to "windows toolbar" check and uncheck the transparent button and increase the color intensity. That's when the speck appears.

Yeah I see it as well, here is two screenshot I took just before I post this, one is shot few second after another.

    [IMG] [IMG]

But still like I said personally I dont care about it since it isnt in the middle of the screen and I dont have many dark wallpaper/movies/music videos though.

Holy crap! You get it too then! I see it vaguely in your second pic!

    Wow! I'm freaking observative!

See, something like this would drive me crazy, but, since it seems to be a glitch that other people have , not as much.

*Interesting note, if you reboot the system, the speck will disspear miracoulously!

Please read my other thread about the HD drivers, I thought un-installing the driver would help, and now I just get a black screen!

So I hypothesize GSDR, that if EVERY M14X user does this procedure, that is, "right-clicks" on desktop then "personalize" then "windows toolbar" and checks/unchecks "tranparent" they will see the SPECK.

I wonder if I could e-mail Intel (or is this a windows 7 issue?) to get a fix to this glitch!!!!!

I would think it is a windows 7 problem, drag a picture, screen border or even the mouse and see if it disappears.

For me it is only noticable when I only have the desktop, even if I drag the toolbar over there it disappears.

If you want to know for sure, ask a Desktop user or whoever use Windows 7 on other laptop or computer see if it is the same, if it is then it is a Dead Pixel but just some sort of glitch or whatever it call.

So I read the link you gave, it say only on Win 7 Home premium and Ultimate version, but my Windows version is Professional, or is it just an example? About the report tool you can click on the "Exclamation Mark" next the +rep icon to report it to the forum's Mod.

And to XxAlbertoxX, there's an "Edit" button (at the bottom right of the post next to "Quote") for you to edit the post or add something to it, dont spam the posts, and read the forum rule because for a thread that has similar or related thing, try wait for 24hrs or no one reply to what you trying to do, then you are free to create a new thread, or else you can also bump a post in your old thread to get everyone's attention. And btw, my name is CGSDR not GSDR though I dont really care but just a reminding that you spell it wrong :p you can shortcut it to CG if you like, neither one is okay for me.

Yeah, it affects all W7 versions, the difference is that with basic it appears with the basic scheme and other version it appears with the aero theme. (Perhaps you misread the first point where it says home basic with home premium.)

The full list is later in the MS article.

    Windows 7 Home Basic
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Windows 7 Professional
    Windows 7 Ultimate

You have to zoom the picture to the maximum and scroll it to the very top-end Left of the screen to see it. Because at first I didnt notice it as well.

I received my m14x with a dead red pixel right in the middle of the screen, called dell, i had one of two options, 1. I can wait for 1 - 2 weeks for them to send out a new one, or they could send someone out the next day. i opted for the next day fix.

Next day tech came out, replaced whole screen (plastics and everything) honestly mate it's not that big of a deal, these things happen, that's what you have warranty for, at least yours is not red and in the middle...
