So I have this Brand new m14x that just came yesterday and yes like a newb not reading this forum , I turned on "Power save" and downloaded Vindictus ( A fighting MMO ) and went to bed, in the end the Laptop must have died over night, and this morning June/9th I booted it to a instead death, as the battery was dead... So I charged it.

I said all that to say, when I turned my laptop back on the morning after unboxing it ( after a small charge ) my laptop began making beeping noises and the monitor would not come on, if you ever experienced this issue or have more expertise in this area then Dell did (all day today ) I would appreciate any suggestions.

    Thank you,
    Jonathan

More Details on Lap top symptoms.
This morning when booting it said something along the lines of "drive failing to be seen" or something, before dying
Screen is does not come on
2 beeps, same pitch, repeat ( Diagnosis was a Memory problem of some sort)
I have removed battery, Ram, and HDD
I have tried other small things, and open to all suggestions

Goal- To see my screen so I can at least format IF its a Memory problem

AND CD is stuck in the drive... cant get it out

    - Reseat your memory In case one of the sticks is loose or not seated
    - Power up your notebook on battery only with the power cable unplugged
    - If it powers into the bios be sure to make sure nothing is overclocked and then hit F10 to exit and save
I know these sound strange but just try them

I have tried those 2 things, re seating my Ram, AND turning on with no external plug-ins what so ever even the power cord, no luck

but i did find this video that I think may have something to do with why every m14x has a graphics card problem when playing games, and maybe mine got shaken or wasn't properly made or maybe the whole video is not pointing towards any solution to my problem, but i get the 2 beeps i got the i7 processors, so if any one wants to view this and tell me what they think i should do fill free too.

Again still taking suggestions I really am disappointed in Dell atm, not even 24 hours out of the box and this.

+1 I wouldnt even bother with it. Get it replaced.
Mine arrived and had a few issues, some times it happens. I wouldnt accept a repair and in 24hrs neither should you.

It will mean a wait though for another, my replacements all running great. Love it.

Whats the difference between a repair and it being put together in a factory with the same parts at high speeds?

If I have a human replace my Motherboard, or get a new lap top factory made with the same exact motherboard, whats the difference? espically if the repair man is good.

Human error. Plus, as someone once stated:

Definitely ask for a new laptop.

Perhaps they could put you at the very top of the building list and give you next-day shipping :) I would also ask for compensation ...try and get a discount/credit or a free 100$ Orion Backpack ;)

Good luck trying to get compensated, my lcd screen and touch pad was messed up when i received mine, they sent a tech to replace the parts (he didn't know what the heck he was doing), by the time he was done the dvd drive and the wifi didn't work. So now they sent me a replacement, when I said something about compensation they told me sending me a new laptop was my compensation lol.

If you are in the return period, asking for a refund will prompt Dell to offer you an amount to keep the laptop. Apparently, the amount can be negotiated. You should demand and get at least $250 off (but try for more and see what happens).
