I bought a refurbished Alienware 14 with the i7, 765, 750gb hd and would like to upgrade the dvd to bluray and if I understand correctly this is the correct replacement part?

    New Panasonic UJ167 UJ-167 6X 3D Blu-Ray Player Combo BD-ROM Super Slim 9.5mm Slot-in Internal DVD RW SATA Drive [UJ-141]- US$59.99 - Eeshops Wholesale

2nd, my hard drive spins like a 747 and vibrates the wristpad. If I installed a 256gb mSata and used it for my boot and Steam would the hard drive still spin or would it be better just to replace the hard drive all together with a Samsung 500gb EVO? And if I were to get the mSata...which is the correct one?

    Thanks!

Any mSata drive of that size should work just fine. It would be better to use the single SSD. The HDD should not spin unless you try to access any files on it.

The HD is always going to spin unless you have power save on HD turn on. But soon as you try to access anything it'll soon back up.
