So I finally get around to firing up a game on my new M14x (Dawn of War II) and after playing for about 30 min the screen went black for a second or two then went back to normal. After gaming for about 2 hours it did this a total of 4 times, the longest time the screen stayed black was for about 12 seconds.

I haven't updated any drivers or touched the screen refresh rate. The laptop was cool and the fan never really ramped up so what gives? How do I fix this?

Try updating drivers and have a play with the visual settings.

I had the same problem. Have you been playing around with the nvidia settings?

    Reset them to default.

If that doesn't work, revert back to the factory driver. The problem is that for some reason with adjustment of some settings in the nvidia control panel, it causes the 2 second black screen issues.

Haven't figured out which setting does it, but I just restored the settings to default and that fixed the issue.

Nope, I haven't touched anything. I'll try changing the refresh rate.
