Guys I wanted to know what settings you play this game on. Setting should produce a stable lag free framerate and still look decent....

WHAT do you guys set it on>>? Detailed settings recommended

    Step 1: Get the game.

Step 2: Adjust the graphics settings to produce the stable framerate.

    Step 3: ....that's it.

Runs fine for me on high detail settings on 1600x900 with the DX11 settings off. Anything more than that is pushing it.

How big is the quality difference between the DirectX 11 settings and the 9 or 10 settings?

That's weird cause for me, the game lags even on the lowest settings possible! And yes I have whitelisted my graphics card.....I gettin an average of just 30 FPS....min 15 and max 40.

Was there an update that makes it less lag free cause I updated to one where DX11 is supported but that just made everything slower.

I was in gametrailers forums and many are reporting the dx11 is pretty bad on Arkham city. I can't think what they were experiencing. Imjustbremeber reading something about it.

Try lower res and work from there

So basically the M14x is already obsolete?

I am running a i7 model of the Alienware with 8GBs of ram and the 3GB 555M.

My settings are High for everything at 1600x900 but NO DX11 with 2x FSAA. I get an average in the benchmark 35FPS. With DX11 enabled at High settings I get only 17 FPS. If you're still having issues I suggest updating your copy of the game to the latest version as I noticed that gave me a slight increase in FPS.

It was always obsolete if you were planning to play all games on high-max setting. It has a mid-range gpu after all. With that being said, AC is also poorly optimized. Give it a few updates and it should be running fine. My friend is having trouble running it with DX11 enabled and he has a GTX 570. If I'm able to run Crysis on high settings on my M14x, I see no reason why it can't run AC without much of a problem. The graphics aren't that much improved from AA.

Try turning off DX11, that really helped for me. What sort of temps is everyone getting with AC? I caught mine up at 80 degrees the other day...

When people post how the games run on their machine they should also post if they use OC and turboboost or not. In my opinion it's not very useful if someone post a framerate without this information.

Anyway, I installed the game yesterday. OC 700/1000/1400 with Nvidia system tools and turbo boost off (I play almost all game with these settings). Settings default very high. That means everything on except DX11. I also use 2x MSAA.

The ingame benchmark runs at 32 fps average and the game itself plays very nice. I haven't checked with fraps, but I didn't feel the need to do so, because I never experience slowdowns.

EDIT: I just tested the benchmark with above OC with extreme settings (with DX11) and AA disbled. I got 21 fps average. With Very high settings and AA disabled its 34 fps average. I don't think there is a big difference in graphics, the game looks very good with either setting.

I run mine with standard clocks and have everything on High with the DX11 stuff turned off. As other people have said, it stays in the mid 30's fps-wise and looks awesome.
