Just switched back to A03 after having issues with A05 and the fan.

So was just wondering if anyone has had all 4 BIOS (A01, A03, A04, A05), and would like to know which you thought was best?

Please Vote, and then list why you thought it was best.

hmm the custom unlocked AO3 bios with the gt555 voltage at .93, ive got my gt555 running at 850mhz smooth and stable, except crysis 2, that stays around 830-820

the A05 Bios made the noise behaviour a lot better imho. its now in a range where its almost acceptable for me.

for the heat: i dont see too much heat on my machine, even the gt555 oc´d on 750/1080. better to max it out while in warranty then after.

A05 as it now no longer sounds like a hair-dryer :)

I like to game on battery on the train so I stuck with A01, just use Afterburner to lower the GT555 clocks a bit and it still runs DA2 and Crysis 2 fine. I am interested in the mod A05 BIOS on here a while ago. I may give that a go sooner or later, but I dont seem to be getting too many problems with the onboard hairdryer kicking in every two minutes.

Instead of asking what BIOS was I did research myself, which leads me to ask, should I be fooling around with my M14x BIOS if i am not a computer wiz? The only thing i've done to the beast was add the graphics driver for BF3.

Furthermore, this current m14x is gonna go to my younger brother, while i'm still waiting on the one which i will initially call my baby. So.. should I be messing around with it at all?

I guess my advice would be to leave it, so long as it is working OK.
Especially if you are not familiar with flashing the BIOS, and that the machine is heading for someone else.

    Interesting.
I tried the volt mod some time ago and the system even went too hot way below 800 running the Witcher 2, but that was with the A05.
Might try the A03 with volt mod again then :p

Just out of curiosity: Which CPU do you have in your M14x?

2630m, turn off turbo boost, drops the temps quite a bit, eh the witcher 2 is too powerful for this little machine anyway
