Battery Won't Charge, I hope there's an A/C Only mode.

Long story short, my battery is faulty and won't charge. It's dead and Dell is sending me a replacement in about a week. Until then I have no way of using my laptop (m14x) because it won't turn on unless the battery has some juice in it. I tried removing the battery and plugging the A/C adapter in and tried to turn it on (I had a laptop with a faulty battery before that let me do this), but that didn't work.

Is there anyway around the mandatory use of the battery? When the laptop was on I knew it knew the A/C was plugged in because when I plugged it in the Alienhead logo (Power Button) would turn and stay a solid blue. When I unplugged it, it would turn yellow, but never in a "charging" state. Either way, whatever color the alienhead logo would turn the laptop would still be in battery mode and it wouldn't charge :(.

I really hope someone has a way around this for me to use it in A/C mode only. When my battery was in it's last %'s I was desperately trying everything from shutting down and doing the 20second thing with the battery unplugged, to disabling battery charge in the BIOS setting in hopes of it just staying on while the A/C was plugged in.

    Please help :( :( :(

Did you hold down the power button for at least 2 minutes when you took the battery out to make sure there was no electrical current running through it? Then try to power it on?

I dont think problem lies with the battery. Its most likely charger problem becasue i had an issue with battery once. i removed the battery and my laptop was running just fine on A/C without it. When tech comes to replace battery have him look around.
