You have to firmly press the battery icon.

How hard do I press? The battery icon is given on the outer casing of the M14x and it seems like if I press too hard, something will break.

I dont think it will break, or if it is, then u can always request another cover from Dell, and try to complain about it, so maybe when they design M14xR2 they'll change it.

If you pull the bottom cover you will see the button on the battery itself, that's how I saw it the first time. The cover does provide alot of resistance, but it shouldn't break unless you check battery levels that way like 10 times a day...

Press the indicator in very hard and it will show. It's a piece of plastic/metal that is pressing onto the actual button.

When I first got mine the button didn't want to work. I took the bottom plate off the first time to take a peek inside and after that it works just fine.

Yeah! Thanks everyone. Just got the darn thing working.

I wish they atleast had provided a small button like the one present in M11x.
