    BSOD then no GPU detected - m14x r1

    i was just using firefox(facebook) then suddenly BSOD occured, now there is no NVIDIA GT555m in device manager, in Bios Discrete Graphics [ Not Detected ], tried reinstalling graphics driver but it says could not find compatible graphics hardware? is my Gpu dead?

    You can try a procedure I learned from alienware technicians. Remove the bottom cover and disconnect the battery from the computer, you can just disconnect the cable so you dont have to complete remove the battery. Then connect the charger to the computer and hold the power button for 1 minute and release the power button. Then the computer will turn on normally just without the battery. Now you can check if your video card is detected, enter to device manager and in display adapter it may appear or open the nvidia control panel and look if it is working properly. Now just turn off the computer and reconnect the battery and your back. This has worked for me when I was having a similar problem with a missing video card after some blue screens.

    That could work, you may also try updating the BIOS to the latest version.
