    Hi Guys,

Been playing BF3 offline, but have recently purchased the DLC's and have been trying to play online, problem is that my system seems to freeze and crash after about 5 to 10 mins of play.

    I have a M14X R1, i7 2860 2.5GHz, 8 Gig RAM, its not overclocked or anything, and I have the Nvidia 306.23 drivers loaded.

I have good performance offline with BF3, just seems to be online, tried Auto, Low settings, and trying different screen resolutions, but same freeze / crash happens, times are inconsistent, somtimes 10mins of play, otherimes, 1 to 2 mins.

    Thanks in advance

    Ricey

Well, I guess this might be that PB problem, try this Solution to the “BF3 stopped working” issue, for me I never had any problem with the game because I play on Windows Mode (press ALT+ENTER to enter Windows Mode).

In fact Windows mode is the most stable, not only that, it will also increase your fps although you might want to flip your taskbar to the left side of the screen if you want more verticle FOV as you can set the horizontal FOV in game.

i'm having the exact same problem on the exact same config but i'm running windows 8, what os are you running?

I found that the only way I can play online is to run in windowed mode, in my instance it's got something to do with windows 8 graphics drives, hopefully this can help

IS it happening only on that game or are you having troubles playing any online game?

    Hi Luis,

Just with Battlefield 3, all my other games are working ok online / multiplayer.

I have tried the PB work around as posted earlier in the thread by CGSDR but was still the same, and crashed / froze after 5 mins.

It seemed to work OK in window mode as suggested, but not how I wanted to play it, so been tweaking overnight.

I turned off turbo boost in set up, made a big difference, as got over an hour with no crashes.

I then rolled back the drivers from 306.23 to the Verde 290.53, and so far, seems stable and working ok, will report after playing later this evening

    Regards

    Ricey
