I'm debating on going with an MSata drive and leaving the spinner inside (and keeping the dvd drive.)

I like the specs of the Mushkin Atlas 120gb but I can't find anything reassuring that it will run close to rated speeds on the R2.

From what I gather, it has been a hit or miss on the msata slot on these things and I just want to make sure I get the most out of the ssd I buy.

Newegg.com - Mushkin Enhanced Atlas Series MKNSSDAT120GB-DX mSATA 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

I saw one CDM test from one person who got 430R/128W but it's rated at 555R/525W.

Anyone able to get 400+ writes from their msata slot?

Well I bit the bullet and purchased an Atlas 120gb and Chronos DX 120gb. They both are MLC NAND. They are both also Toggle.

I'm going to post many benchmarks of each drive separate and in raid 0 so we can get some solid answers about the msata slot.

Does the Mushkin come with the mounting screw or did your M14x have the screw already there?

My Mushkin did not come with a screw.

From reading around in different threads, it seems that the M14X does not come with a mounting screw either unless you ordered an MSATA drive at the time of purchase.

i have an Atlas and for some reason my read speeds are limited as well. gonna mess with it and see if i can get anywhere close to what its rated. I have my Atlas in RAID0 with a forceGT and from what i remember the one time I ran it by itself i only got like 350 for read. now im on a newer firmwware so ill reinstall and default the bios and see what happens.
