Just wondering if it's too flashy to bring to client sites. I'm assuming you can tone down the colors?

yea.. even the alienhead on off button can be turn off.. only thing remain on is the alienhead at the back of the display..

i have the stealth black.. definitely low profile looking if you want it to be.. but guess it depends too.. i'm a software engineer.. i can go all flashing my laptop infront of clients.. cause it's my power workhorse.. who would they rather be dealing with.. a programmer that uses netbook?

get the stealth black if it concerns u.. turn off all the leds and the matte black surface makes it actually even less flashy than those shiney piano finish laptop.. IMO

Hmm, I can't turn off the ring around the track pad, I taught it was by design, I can change it to any color but not completely off. Darn.

You can set the colour of the touchpad to black with the AlienFX editor, or in PCFx (where I offer a larger range of colours too). Alternatively you can turn it off by turning off your touchpad entirely with FN+Insert keys pressed together, this will mean you can't use your touchpad for mouse movement though.

no the touchpad can't be set to black.. black is disabled (or it's kind of reserve for representing the touchpad is turned off)... but you can set to white.. white is ok.. setting all white is ok as well :)

Odd, I thought it could. I guess I confused that with the fact that actually PCFx can make it black then, not AlienFX's standard editor.

I carry mine to work all the time, and play Dragon Age while I'm at my desk....

I doubt that answers your question though. :p

You don't have to use the alienware software to turn off all the leds (even the trackpad).

Just press the FN + 'Alien FX' key (Prnt Screen) buttons.

All off, and everything still works.

for everyone wondering how to turn off all the fx lights including the touch pad... (drum roll) right click the alienfx tray icon, quick change, select the color black.

I'm using it to Work and Fun as well.

Depending on the meeting I don't even turn anything off.

Clients love it, It works much better than my older macbook air to impress clients. We comment about it for some time before meetings starts, is a good way to "break the ice"...

I guess it depends what business you plan on doing. If you're an IRS employee about to audit someone after tax season, the fan would blow the receipts all over the place! kidding, kidding :p

You could right click the alienfx tray icon and deselect "keep status zones on during go dark".
Touchpad will be off when alienfx is switched off.
