As you can tell by my signature I own a few devices that can surf the internet on my Comcast high speed (cable) connection. The only one of these that seems to have some problems with slow internet speed is my brand new Alienware 14?! I have tried disabling the power saver but this problem persists. I can usually fix it by going through troubleshoot problems, but why this keeps occurring is a puzzle and none of the other devices? Is it possible that I have too many devices on my network? I don't think that is it but you never know. I just fixed the current slow problem by clicking on troubleshoot (right click on wireless icon in systray) and having it check the wireless adapter. I did just have the 14 at my son's place (down the hall) and it was really slow there as well and he has a faster Comcast package than I do (50 up). Could it be a nic problem? Thanks for any help.

I'm assuming your trying to connect wirelessly correct? First off what wireless card you have? I'm not up to date with whats coming with the new machines. :(

My speeds are trash. 1/10th the speed I get wired. I highly suspect router, but I will know in a couple days when I get my upgraded router. If the slowness persists, there will be blood

I have the broadcast wifi module, I have a 6 mb Internet, but usually my new aw download just to 400... In my university have a 100 mbs download (or even more) , but so far I have only reach like 5 mb (500 kbps) , with my m14x I reach even 12 mb via wifi, via ethernet well that's another story, but yes it seems for me that there is a drop, will keep testing

yea I just looked and didn't have much luck myself. They manufacture a heck of a lot more different types of equipment than I thought. :(

try a traceroute and see what you can get? That would at least let you know if its your network path or something else that is the problem.

Could you please upload a screenshot of your device manager with the network tab opened?

Just to follow up, I finally got my ASUS 750 router set up and I have no problems with speed unless I use power saver mode. I do still have some weird lag spikes from time to time when gaming or using video chat, but I'm happy to blame the ISP at this point.
