Anyone here regret (or doesn't like) the glossy screen?

I did a search but couldn't find anything. I prefer matte screens but I don't do any outside computing. I've heard that the screen suffers from serious glare even under normal lighting conditions. Is this true? Is there anyone who regrets getting the M14x because of the screen? I ask people here because plenty of the reviews on the M14x cannot be trusted. Some reviewers say that the screen is outstanding, while others say that the colors aren't vibrant. Just wanted some actual ownership experiences.

    Thanks

I do feel some, but because 85% of the time I use the laptop are indoor, and the laptop always face the opposite the room light/sunlight, so it doesnt mind me at all. I use to see some auction on eBay that you can use some sort of matte plastic to have it glue or stick to the screen for if you really dont like the glossy screen. Beside for this kind of performance on a 14" laptop? I think I can take it for an exchange, because no laptop is flawless.

However on some occasion where I have to use it outdoor, I do feel kind of irritated with the screen, even at full brightness it still not enough, I wish that they have a higher brightness setting than the current one or an external software tweak use just for that purpose and can be turn off/disable if indoor/not use.

I am not bothered by glossy-ness at all. It is an attractive looking setup but the problem is the color gamut is really low which is really REALLY stupid considering this is supposed to be the best 14 inch laptop possible.

    WHERE RGB SCREEN, WHAR?

The glossiness does sort of bother me as I also prefer a matte screen, but I'm so happy with this computer in every other respect that I rarely think about it. When doing normal web surfing, where webpages tend to have a white background, it's really not noticeable. If playing a game with a darker background, it's more noticeable - but it just gives me an excuse to play in the dark and admire the backlit keyboard! :)

I like the screen, the colors definitely beat all my other monitors except my TV. I wouldnt mind a smaller bezel though, but this is in no way game breaking. I would actually love an HD+ 14.5 inch m14x instead of just 14.0. Itd give you a bit more room and allow for even possibly better cooling, while staying the same relative size (so 14.5 inch screen + smaller bezel = same size computer with bigger screen)

I hate the glare, yes. It's my biggest gripe with the M14x.

However, the pros of this machine completely kill the cons.

I use mine indoors and mostly at night/evening, and if it's too bright to a point where my reflection on the screen hides the picture, I put the black cloth cover on my tummy/chest and I can usually get by with that. Not for gaming though. I don't think I could play Skyrim or Crysis in a bright room/outdoors.
