Can the 14 play SC2 on full high or does it need to be turned down a bit?

Can play 1v1 mid 30 to mid 40 fps. Starts at mid 40s.

    I don't know 2v2 or 3v3, but there's a video that plays 4v4 and it held a mid to higher 30 during a rush.

    RagingAzn's Starcraft 2 4v4 vid

Let me know if this helps.

I tried it and maintained roughly 50-60 FPS
Goes down to 40s later in-game.

That's Ultra settings. With the GPU over locked to 750

does overclocking your gpu void the warranty?

I believe that overclocking does not void Alienware warranties.

but does the better processor really make that much difference for fps? And from what I've read the 3gb card improves next to nothing for gaming compared to the 1.5....

Well, SC2 needs CPU :p And lots of it :) His turbo boost goes some 400MHz higher than yours, I dunno if that makes much of a difference.

I'd guess he also might have less stuff in the background? I dunno.

Whoa...I have the 2720 CPU upgrade as well with the 900p screen, and I get like 30-40 FPS on high. I highly doubt the 3GB GPU ram is making that big of a difference...

I guess it could be the new video drivers that is improving performance.

Mine def doesn't run "smooth" on Ultra though (but if it does, then making this my desktop replacement would finally come true)

well, the 275 beta drivers did (according to the driver info) improve dual core game performance (dunno how), which would anecdotally improve performance of dual core optimized games, like Starcraft 2 :D

You guys should list your m14x's specs. ^^
Oh Topic starter, you're awesome. I was about to make a thread of the same thing.
Edit: I just noticed that some of you guys have the specs in your sig.
