I am playing Team Fortress 2 on the new m14x, and it runs beautifully. I am concerned with how hot this laptop gets, however, and want to ensure that I am doing what I can to keep it safe. I have the i7 processor with the 3.0Gb NVIDIA GeForce 555m, and an SSD. I have no overclock.

Team Fortress 2 runs at greater than 60 FPS with all settings on high including 8x MSAA for anti-aliasing. However, the recommended setting is to have no anti-aliasing. Will using anti-aliasing cause my GPU or CPU to get hotter than without it? If so, is it still safe to use?

Also, will using lower settings for graphics like medium or low keep the GPU and/or CPU cooler than using higher settings?

i hav TF2 all full setting and it runs over 60fps so i also have vsync on to cap it.. i'm using the method suggested somewhere in the forum.. where limit the CPU to 99% to stop it from turbo boosting.. cause clearly TF2 doesn't need those.. maybe the game loading is abit slow but i'll go by with that

I dont think TF2 is a really graphic demanding game, as for me my 7-year-old desktop (Intel P4, Radeon X850XT) can run it at a 40-50 fps, and the GPU/CPU will definitely heat up as the data process increase, so you dont need to worry much, and believe me, my M14x is much much worse than yours, in some case the CPU even jump to 99C.
