Is the program your trying to play/pause on top, or is it under another window?
IE - you have itunes playing music while your surfing the web?

On the desktop. The key combinations: FN+F1, F2, PAUSE, don't work.
    The others work properly.

I think those keys only work when the program that needs them is open and at the top.

At least thats how my m11x was. My x51 works when the music program is in the background though.
