    Hello all,

Well I've had an issue for quite some time that the other forums couldn't solve sadly and hope you all can help me. I bought myself a hdd caddy for my model to replace my optical drive, however the hard drive shows up no where whatsoever and not in disk management. I have the cable secured in my laptop and everything is attached just fine.. I don't know what's wrong :(

Thanks and any more info I will gladly post

If it doesn't appear there nor in the BIOS, the adapter or HDD could be broken.

Just double check if the DVD drive is still recognized if you plug that back in - if it is then you have a faulty adapter. If it doesn't then we can only assume that there has been some damage to either the ribbon cable or the socket on the board.

Thanks all, I did that and it appears the cable must be faulty.
