I don't know why my alienware is lagging. I cleaned out the heatsink and applied thermal paste to my laptop, but the fan still spins like crazy when i'm gaming.

    Specs:
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz
    10GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M
    Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000

    Any help?

10GB RAM? maybe incorrect but I thought that the M14X and M14X R1 are only able to register up to 8GB of RAM and that was why the M14X R2 was / is the MacBookPro (of the same era) killer!

NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M / Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000? Are your drivers up to date?
Also you could install GPU-Z from Techpowerup -click here- to try and find out if your GPU is thermally throttling?

Check both, the GPU and CPU temperatures.
