Today I received my M14x, I wanted to access the 32gbSSD but could not find it. Its not in my computer and im pretty sure its not considered to be in my main hard drive folder because it says that is only has 456GB and if they were in the same area that would mean alienware gave me a 420GB HD and called it a 500GB. Please tell me if its in a hidden folder or if they failed to install it. Thanks

The 32GB is not a system drive, it's a dedicated caching SSD. Meaning that you will not be able to use it as storage, but it will boost your access speed to frequently used files.

Or maybe you didn't order the HDD configuration with a 32GB caching mSATA SSD?

If you are interested in it's physical location, it's in the mSATA slot and that is behind the battery when you take off the back of your computer.

Yeah, I had a similar issue with my R1 but It was an easy disassemble to find out if it was there and of course it was not! I called dell and they had the part to me next day!

It does not show up the normal way when you look for it. When you boot up take a look at the first screen. You will see both listed.
