    Hello everyone - Would repasting the GPU/ CPU fix this problem?

    Looks more like a broken lcd, so no that won't fix it.

    It does look like the screen might be cracked as Drake says however could you provide another picture to verify this is the case as the one you have isn't to clear?
    The other possibility on this would be defective GPU or screen cable - a repaste is not going to help this type of problem

    Does it look fine on an external monitor? If it does, the LCD, LCD cable or LCD slot on motherboard may be the culprit (s).

    Thanks for assistance guys.
    I can confirm it is indeed a damaged screen.

    Out of warranty and I'm pretty good at repairing systems.

    I've attached a photo to give you a better idea of my situation.
    (Sorry about the dressing gown reflection, lol, first thing in the morning)

    Will this screen part fit?
    (It states 40pin connector to the right but I can only see connections in the middle)

    Yes that screen linked will work but I would be tempted to find a company which advertises no dead pixels. The fact they advertise 1 to 5 dead indicates they are not grade a new panels that they are selling.
