Just last night I had around eight keys all located next to each other stop working for a short period of time. The same issue occurred this morning and once again they started to work again. All the lights on the keyboard were still on, because every other key worked other than the eight that stopped. I don't know whats causing this issue and I've only ever had to get my machine repaired once for a faulty motherboard.

The keys that stopped working were Q,W,E,R,A,S,D,F.

Try to disable all non-microsoft services and restart your computer in safe mode. Once it "clean boots", try safe mode for a while and see if the keys stop responding at any time.
