Hello. Lately i have been getting a lot of performance issues on my alienware m14x. I tried playing a bit of team fortress 2 and after a minute or two the FPS drops down to 20 FPS.
I tried playing other games like Far cry 2, Garry's Mod and Left 4 Dead 2 and a lot more. But i just have the same issue. In some cases the FPS even drops down to 3 FPS. I have tried a lot of things to fix this issue but no luck. I hope someone can help me with this issue. Thanks. :)

Sounds like your system is probably over heating which is causing it to throttle down the gpu and/or cpus. Have you tried removing the bottom cover and cleaning the fans and vents with compressed air?

Blow some air through the fans. Some people like to hold the fan still while they do this.

I personally would suggest taking the bottom cover off and shooting air in that way. This makes sure you aren't blowing the dust farther into the machine where it can cause worse overheating in the future. ;)
