    Hello,

I finally made the decision to call up dell and request for replacement due to white/stuck pixel, its a 2x2 dead pixel (4 dead pixels in one dot). It took them 1 day to approve and thank God they approved mine. I received the dispatch number and it says "EXG" for Call Type. I have a question, how long does it usually take to receive the replacement, and how many days after I received the replacement do I have to return the old system? Do they come with exactly the same configuration, new in box? Or they come in refurbished units? I ordered this M14X R2 on 22nd January and received it on the 30th January. So I still have the 21 days return policy.

    The current status:
    Status: Pending Dispatch Processing

ps. how do I return the old system? Will they send me a box? Do I have to include everything along when shipping the system back, like the pouch, manual, dvd drivers and windows installation disc?

    Thanks.

The process might take between 2 or 3 weeks because the system is most likely going to be brand new as it was purchased less than a month ago. Once you receive the replacement laptop you'll have ten business days to return the old one using any of the two boxes, just make sure you paste the label that came with the exchange in the box you will return. You can check the exchange confirmation e-mail for additional information.

I think you just need to return the laptop with all of its components (including battery and AC adapter).

Thank you. Since I have all my personal datas, internetion history and all saved in my current M14X R2, isit okay if I swap this HDD to the new system once it arrives?
And also, I have my custom nameplate, can I keep it, instead of sending back? Which they probably will be destroying it because its personalized.

    Thanks.

Thank you so much. I hope it does work! Since all the specs, components inside are exactly the same. Plus I have been using this for about 2 weeks already, got alot of stuffs saved inside. Hope my next replacement will be a perfect unit. Otherwise I will ask for refund, and maybe buy another brand or something.

As Mr. Luis said, you have 10 days for return. And yes, it may take upto 2-3 weeks for the new system to arrive at your door (it will be approximately the same as the one you have already with you).

Another plus point, yes, swap whatever you have in your current system and make the 'new' one work exactly as you wanted, including the backplate. As you already know, its very easy to remove 4 screws and put it back on the system which you are going to receive. Also, make sure everything works okay, including dvd-rom or Blu-ray (whatever you have ordered with your system), before sending the old system back. Now you will have new parts from the current system and it will be easy for you to swap them and make everything work as it supposed too.

Once you are done with all that, when you send back the old system, please make sure that you include everything which came in the box along with the computer (ofcourse), otherwise dell / alienware has the right to charge you for those parts. Just don't give a reason for issues.

I hope that my guidance / answers cleared all your doubts and I am sure that you will have everything sorted out exactly how you wanted. Best of luck!

Thanks for the info! Should i also return the pouch that came along? After 2-3 weeks, my 21 day return policy will end. Or will they reset the 21 days return period once I received the new system?
