    Hi Guys,

I am planning to purchase a M14X R2 from US.

Can anyone plese let me know whether this model is having international or only US warranty ?

In my country it costs too much and no option to customize. :(

Please help me out of this.

As what I am understanding from you, you are in US now and you want to buy it from there because it is cheaper. When you buy it (if you stay at a residential address), let them put your name as the owner (they will create a account with your name) and you can buy with anyone's credit card from US.

Once you leave US, have the warranty transferred to the country of your residence (if you do a search on google, you will find that form). They will take about 2-3 weeks to have it transferred for you.

The rule is, once you buy the system from US and you move out of US for more than 6 months (for 6 months you can still use your US warranty, outside the country; you have to remember to order it in your name), you require to change your residence address in their system so that they can transfer the warranty to that country.

I hope I've answered your question to your satisfaction.

Thanks juliant. I want to purchase a M14X R2 asap.
Do you know when the next version of M14X coming up ? should I wait ?

I have a doubt regarding M14X R2 and Inspiron 17R SE , for the same price i think 17R SE is better.

DO you have any idea hows the portability of 17R SE, is it too big.?

First of all you cannot compared the 2 systems. One is 14" and the second one is 17". You can go with the basic alienware m17" and you will have a similar cost + a better performance, upgradable CPU / GPU.

About the next version?! Mmm, there is always a new technology coming up the corner. I believe that for another 4-5 months there will be no changes with this system. It is too early for them to change it and too expensive to go with a new pattern. this revision is not even 1 year old. If anyone from Alienware is willing to change completely this system (remove the dvd-rom, add an extra fan etc. etc.), then it will be a huge upgrade and m17x will be ignored / nobody will buy it...

I have one more doubt ? What do you meant by upgradable CPU / GPU.??

We cant upgrade it once we buy it right ?

We have the option to customize the laptop before buying right ?

I am planning to take M14X R2 in 2 months time. Any suggestions or should I wait ?

The m14x R2 has the GPU embedded in the motherboard, therefore you will need to replace the entire motherboard to be able to upgrade it.
Yes you have the option to customize before the checkout.
