Hi, i purchased an Alienware-M-14x-r1 about four months ago and I want to make sure i'm handling it correctly.
So I'll start with a few of my questions.
*When you install a new driver for your GT 555M, do you delete your previous drivers? In my NVIDIA folder i currently have 285.62, 295.73, and 296.10 which was the last one i installed.
*How often do you guys power down your laptop/sleep/hibernate? I've always had a PC so I never had to worry about shutting it down.

What other recommendations do you guys have for me?
    Thanks for the help! :)

If you mean in the C:\NVIDIA folder, you can delete those after installing.

It is fine, NVIDIA will always use the very last driver you install, say you install a 296.10 then roll back to install the 295.73, then after a restart NVIDIA CP will use the 295.73. But you're welcome to delete them as each of which is about 200MB - 300MB large, though you may want to use some other reg cleaner program such as CCleaner to make sure that there is no remnant of the other drivers

For me, before I go to bed at night, I always power off, and use hibernation only if it is during day time, and sleep is for when I away temporary.

The other thing I want you to do is, to turn the Turbo Boost which can be found in the BIOS (F2 - Setup) then it will be in the Advance Tab, turn the Turbo Boost off would greatly reduce the temp produce by the laptop and I dont think you would need it since most 2nd Sandy Bridge is much much faster than the predecessor (i5/i7 only). Lastly is a cooler After you turn the Turbo Boost off and the laptop is still running hot.
