    Hey guys,

I have had my Alienware M14X for many years now. Unforunately the charging port (where the charging cable plugs into) has been getting looser and looser (the fit is loose). The cable falls out fairly easy now and I wondering if I can replace the port itself?

    Thanks!

    Try this.

It looks like the charging port is connected to the motherboard. So you might need to replace the motherboard.

Anyone else have any idea? I think your right...I think you have to replace the motherboard...looks like that is about $200 to replace...

Please don't be so silly. Replacing the motherboard because of a faulty charging socket? I never heard of anything so ridiculous!
There are plenty of companies out there with the necessary soldering expertise to replace the socket - do not attempt it yourself if you haven't done it before.
If your located in the UK I would be happy to do it for you if you post the motherboard & a new socket to me.

Sorry I am really not familiar with this stuff. I don't live in the UK (I live in the US) but it is good to hear that.

I am wondering if the charging cable itself is just so worn that it is loose now. It may not be the actual socket attached to the motherboard.

It could be any of the 2. I'd recommend you to take it to a local repair shop to have it checked.
