If you experience lag, stutter or any other weird symptom (may get worse overtime) it could be related to heat.

    How to deal with overheating

AW just needs to ship with good thermal paste and a clean application of same

What about the temperature of the PCH diode, Luis? If you hardly use your m14xr2 for browsing and other things for more than half an hour the pch diode temperature goes above 60 degrees (though I am in a room temperature average of 21-22 degrees Celsius) and the fan is starting to run like crazy... IF that matter was solved with some kind with better cooling system, while browsing, doing office work, this system could have been very quite and one of the top models out there. Maybe some thermal pads could help...

Isn't that upto the NVidia to switch from one to the other? As far as I can see, since I have it monitored with aida64, the dedicated GPU (Nvidia) is off. the PCH diode is based on monitoring the integrated motherboard parts. Something, somewhere in the middle it's getting hot and that's what makes the diode to read such high temperature. I have no idea what it could cause that. I remember in 2009 when I had the alienware m17x R2, there was a similar situation. Once they changed the motherboard that problem was out. I hope it is not the same situation now...

I have the same problem with the PCH temp, when browsing the pch temp reach 60º and when playing 67º celcius, and takes hours to cool down, and the fan is constantly on regardless the Cpu and Gpu temps are in 40º or below.

I guess this is what you call 'normal' at the m14xr2, that is why nobody replies :D

I had some quality time on this machine while opened and reached to a conclusion that actually nothing can be done. This machine as a matter of fact has already been upgraded with a better heatsink then the previous version. The heating of the pch diode is caused by the cpu / gpu and ofcourse the culprit is the heatsink. Because before the fan could kill that heat, there is alot spreding in the middle of the motherboard causing high temperatures (inside parts are very much congested and the fan does not do much).. The only solution is double ventilation so that the air circulates and does not remain for a long period. I am a person who has all his machines on cooling pads. Recently I've replaced (again) the heatsink thermal paste and I have to see if that helps a bit.
