    Hey there

I've got a new Alienware 14, I plugged it into my monitor and it only does the 1920x1080. I only use the laptop as a desktop replacement that is portable, so I plug it into a monitor at work and home.

Do i have to go buy new monitors that do 1920x1080 natively or is there some way i can get the Alienware 14 to display at the native resolution of my monitor which is 1920x1200

    Thanks for the help.

    Sam

What port are you using to connect the machine to the T.V?

Buy a 1920x1200 monitor and set the resolution to wuxga (1920x1200) and smile at the 16:10 screen.

HDMI to the older style DVI plug.

just annoying i thought these days all laptops would export to all standard screen resolutions. don't want to buy 2 more screens if I can avoid it.

Ok found out how to do it after talking with Dell support.

Screen resoultion > Extend monitors, (makes long screen across both monitors), then I can choose the 24 inch screen at the 1900x1200 resolution.

I now make my laptop stay on if I close lid when powered by AC power. When I do this it makes my main 24inch LCD screen just a single screen and I use it as a desktop replacement now.

Love this laptop now I fixed this issue.
