    Hi all,

I've got a WXGA (1200x800) projector at home that only supports VGA connections.

I bought a HDMI to VGA converter and while my display properties can detect a screen, it wouldn't display anything.

So I thought, okay, all my MAC colleagues are using the miniDP to VGA dongle at work, so I took one home.

At first, the projector started displaying my screen (hurray!) but the second I start a game it disconnects.

Since then, I haven't had any luck getting the output back....

Again, the laptop recognises an external display but cannot output.

Any help would be appreciated :)

    Cheers

Make sure you set up the games like this.

Have you tried different drivers? Are you currently using the DELL ones (video)?

I'm using the default Dell drivers.

After doing some research it appears that miniDP only connects to integrated graphics output and not discrete?

Have to do HDMI to VGA to project games.

    Am I correct?

I have a hdmi to dvi connector. I connect it to my big LCD AT&T office and play BF3, works great. I haven't tried mini-dp yet, don't have an adapter yet.
