When I use my USB port half the time it will keep making that disconnected noise and my mouse/ keyboard are not connected. I attempted to plug in 1 item and it does the same, as when I have 2 plugged in.
Sometimes I have to sit there for 3-5min trying to unplug and plug in my mouse/keyboard till it will eventually work.

I was wondering if there is a easy fix for this, or do I have to send it in?

EDIT:Forgot to mention that when I'm using it the port will just disconnect on me without a warning.

I have only 1 port on the right side, and it's that one that is not working.

I had the same problem with my USB 3.0 port on my m14x r1 after updating to windows 8. Just checked you said right side, and there is indeed a SS USB 3.0 port on the right side. I'm not sure if yours is the same problem however my problem got solved when I installed the latest USB 3.0 Controller Driver.

I got all my drivers from this page downloads.dell.com - /Pages/Drivers/ But for some reason they don't update this page anymore, so nothing for the aliewnare 14-17-18 can be found there. So try going to your laptops own driver page through Dell support. And download the latest USB 3.0 Controller Driver Update. For my laptop there is NO driver for windows 8 at all. So I installed the windows 7 version and it worked anyways. Saying this just in case you came across the same issue.

    Hope this helps
