Hey everyone! First post here, so please excuse any errors I make!

Alienware 14 Specs (Don't know how to do a signature yet): Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, Intel i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce 750M GPU, 6GB DDR3 RAM. I have exact specs in About Me, will update post with that info later, above specs are off the top of my head.

I bought my Alienware 14 about a month ago, and after the OOBE, I updated Windows, installed antivirus, etc. The only drivers I updated was the Nvidia driver because it was prompting me to do so (upon looking in device manager, the OEM Nvidia driver was really old).

The first problem I encountered was after plugging in my monitor, which has a DVI-D to HDMI adapter, I pressed the FN + F1 key to switch between the two displays, but all that came up was the "adjust screen resolution" window. I assume this would be an Alienware OSD problem, but I just want to have a second opinion on this topic before I do anything else. Should I update the OSD drivers?

The second problem is when I press the FN + F5 key (if I remember correctly) for I/D GFX, all it says is that my graphics are automatically being optimized. I searched for almost 30 minutes to try and find the setting for this, but had no luck. I even changed the global settings in the Nvidia control panel, however, it didn't yield any different results. Any fixes for this?

Finally, I just have a question that I could never get a straight answer for: In order to update my graphics drivers, for example, Intel HD Graphics 4600, should I use the drivers from Intel's website, which are more new? Or, do I use the drivers from Dell's website which are significantly older?

Has anyone encountered this problem? Would a simple BIOS update fix all of this? Please let me know what I should do.

Sorry for the length of the text! Thanks for your help!

    1. Maybe reinstalling the OSD might help your case. Not sure a BIOS update would fix the problem, but you need to check if you have the latest or not. I also tried FN + F1 on my laptop (not a 14, but still) and it brought up the screen resolution option screen. I think that is the function of the command.
    2. You don't have a GTX or AMD GPU (high one), so you cannot do the FN + F5 command like you could if you had a GTX 765m in the laptop. You'll have to rely on the NVidia Control Panel and power plans to change your GPU.
    3. Honestly, either should be fine, but preferably from Intel.

    1. you can use windows key + P to switch between screens

    2. GT750M doesn't have dedicated mode. Alienware didn't implemented this feature to this gpu

    3. Get it from intel would be fine
