That "leak" you are talking about has been out there since march. I posted it earlier (22nd of march) here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-14-m14x/747415-alienware-14-r2-2.html#post9602555
1st of all that's the old alienware website layout, which is now changed, but it changes gradually on other websites, meaning other domains of alienware. It first changed on alienware.com, and the rest followed up, in this case the Ireland page of alienware still has the old looks. On the old pages it somehow always showed that the alienware 14 (that particular one model, with the given specs) showed the alienware 860m as it's graphics cards, which was an error. Because at that time in march, the alienware 17 and 18 just recently got the Geforce 860m and 880m available. The base model of the alienware 17 had the 860m, so my guess is, they accidentally changed it for the alienware 14 too, while it only had to change for the alienware 17 (and 18).

About the shipping date being 11th of july, that is just the normal shipping date of the 765m version, as it was april on the belgian site as I have quoted above. So yeah, don't expect too much of that error, like I said, it's been up there for more then 2 months.

The 860M Maxwell variant exists and is already sold by some companies. Oddly enough, Alienware is not following them. I'm not sure what they're waiting for anymore.

    3 possibilities:
    - They are working/ engeneering/ testing on a drastically changed new revision, so that it can be once again like it was "the most powerful 14inch gaming laptop" (which Ihope it is)
    - They are trying to empty a warehouse full of alienware 14 motherboards with soldered 765M GPU's.
    - They are acting stupid and wasting time due to some marketing strategy to release the new graphics card on a specific date to be able to sell more.

This sounds the most legit to me.
Last year was a fantastic year for gaming laptops. Many many strong competitors of AW14 roused. Alienware might have sold less units then they've expected. I don't know much about pcb process but I know it's not very practical to replace gpu chips which have already been soldered on motherboards.
Not having a refresh is not a big deal to owners of the existing model though, at least I will not replace my machine to pursue like 15-20% more gpu horsepower at this moment. Maybe 1 or 2 generations more on the gpu side, then I may get a new one while keeping the old machine as a collection :)

I'm a computer scientist, I'm A LOT behind my laptop, and I have a more then 3 year old M14X r1 with the 555M. As a person that games a lot too, I need an update this year. But everything is working against me as I am looking for a 14 inch very powerful gaming laptop. I can only get the razer blade at the moment which I personally don't like. Then the Gigabyte Aorus X3 plus has been announced which I don't know when will arrive to europe. So I'm stuck here. And I'm afraid by the time actually the laptop that I want comes out, new GPU and CPU architectures will release.

You can take a look at Asus's gx500 as well if you don't mind the 15.6" form factor. Personally I think it looks fantastic. The gpu update interval (for nvidia) is pretty periodic and regular. So depends on how urgent do you want a new laptop, you might as well wait a bit for a more mature maxwell product. A new intel architecture is probably coming very soon. But nvidia? judging by how long Kepler lasted, I believe maxwell will roll for 2-3 years more until a new architecture comes.
