    hi all,

Anyone here knows if AW14 can output via HDMI or Displayport to a 4K UHD TV?

    Thanks in advance.

This is from Nvidia's website: GeForce GTX 765M | Specifications | GeForce

    Display Support:
    H.264, VC1, MPEG2 1080p video decoder
Up to 3840x2160 LCD – eDP 1.2 support
Up to 1920x1200 LCD – LVDS support
Up to 2048x1536 VGA analog display Support
Up to 3840x2160 DisplayPort Multimode Support
    HDMI
    HDCP content protection
7.1 channel HD audio on HDMI
    TrueHD and DTS-HD Audio Bitstreaming

So yes, the card does support 4K (both the 750M & 765M)

Actually, I think the more prevalent factor would be the spec of the HDMI port/s on the input an output devices. Both would need to be v1.4 according to HDMI guidlines. If either HDMI port does not meet this requirement, the fact that the GPU is capable is a rather moot point as it won't work. An example of this would be with my old M18x R1 & Ultrasharp U3011 - even though hooked up via High speed HDMI/Ethernet, the display would not exceed 1920x1200 because of the spec of the HDMI in/outs.

My GPU's (dual 680m's) were more than capable of running native 2560x1600 but the ports could not handle it. DisplayPort worked fine as it has a much larger bandwidth.

Saying that, obviously a 4k TV would support this, and according to Alienware specifications, ALL the HDMI ports on the new machines are indeed HDMI 1.4. Hook it all up with a suitable HDMI cable (High speed/High speed & Ethernet) and it should work just fine.

I don't know if 4k TV's are equipped with DisplayPort's - would be nice if they are. HDMI seems to confuse so many people!

I'm 99% sure it should work. specwise the machine is capable of doing it.
