    Hello,

I was wondering if any one has tried
    ( Kingston KVR16S11/8 8GB RAM DDR3 SODIMM 1600MHz) * 2 = 16GB on Alienware M14X.
4GB RAM seems bit less for me now. So I was wondering whether it's all right to use the mentioned RAM. Specifications attached.

Please recommend and leave your valuable thoughts.

    Thank You.

    Hello,

After much waiting I’ve decided to take a risk and try this memory for myself. And after a bit of hesitation I’ve ordered it (Kingston KVR16S11 8GB * 2 RAM) from Amazon.

Installation was easy and I’ve replaced my 2X 2GB RAM with 2X 8GB RAM populating both slots. Once I’ve accessed the UEFI/BIOS setting I was able to see
    Slot #0: 8 GB
    Slot #1: 8 GB

    Which totals to 16 GB.

Windows 7 booted normally and I was able to see Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 16GB.
Frankly speaking I thought there will be great speed boost but it wasn’t. I can open lot of Firefox/ Chrome browser tabs and multiple (a lot actually) programs and Windows doesn’t throws low memory error. But I thought 16 GB RAM will make my machine supersonic fast. But no matter, Next month I’ll buy a 500GB+ SSD and that will make all the difference.

    So am I satisfied?
    Yes very much indeed.
The price difference between 2X 8GB V/S 2X 4GB is about ~15% only. So it was justified to buy 2X 8GB RAM.

    RAM Details:
    Kingston KVR16S11/8, 8GB 2Rx8 1G x 64-Bit PC3-12800, CL11, 204-Pin SODIMM, 1.5V, 800MHz fCK.
