    Hi,

i have replace my thermal compound, but wen i turn on the computer he makes 5 beeps .

I try to find the solution and i just find in the codes table of alienware thst is a Real Time Clock failure or CMOS battert failed.

Have any one take this problem too?

Whats the solution? I have to buy and change the CMOS battery?

Try removing the laptop battery, holding down the power button for 30 seconds 2-3 times, and see if it continues beeping. Otherwise take your machine apart and see if you didn't plug everything back up right.

When I replace the thermal compound of my Alienware M14X I had the same 5 times beeps.

I turned off my M14X and I turned it back on -> everything works fine since.

I have changed the CMOS Battery, and do all the steps again to confirm the cables, when i turn on, i press f2 for 10 seconds, and open a Alienware Check System, then enter the windows, i dont have restart yet to see if the problem its solved, but the computer is running and my temp is over 20c down...(change the thermanl compound and clean).

I'm afraid to restart and the beeps appear again..

encountered the same thing(5 beeps) when i did a repaste. I jsut restarted and everything's been working fine(since april). What i did notice is that my speakers are busted and i don't know if it's from the repasete or sometime earlier since i use headphones most of the time.
