I bought an LG 3D TV, I tried to play a 3D movie via my m14 r2 but the quality sucked. I have an HDMI cable but don't know if he it is high speed and if that would matter. have the gt 650m graphics card. should this card be able to handle this? is there some settings that i need to play with?
    appreciate any input

Try the DP connector. It should work better for that.

thanks! I will try that. when setting up to play on another screen I can choose to have it also display on the laptop. with the HDTV hopefully running 120hz does it matter if it is also running on the laptop screen at 60hz or is better to only have it play via the DP?

I dont know about your model, but I have an LG and though it does 120Hz its done internally and only accepts 60Hz imput signals. I believe all LGs were like that when i got mine. if it does support 120Hz inputs the only way to get it from the r2 would be a miniDP to dual link dvi adapter. you may also need to change up some drivers but I havent had a working 120Hz monitor to mess with to know for sure.
