got a acer aspire 5315 and just had to replace hard drive, before i did that i managed to copy the PQ SERVICE volume over with acronis disk director the cloned back onto the new hard drive.
now i have tried to hit the alt f10 upon boot and i get this error PARTITION 1 HARD DISK 1BA117C3 NO EXECUTE=OPTION.
I also have tried to install new copy of vista with leaving recovery on there then tried the alt f10 and still same error how can you fix it if i can as got no dvds to recover.

Did you repartition the harddrive before you started to put stuff on it? I never copied the PQ SERVICE volume to my new harddrive.

Does your old harddrive still function? Might want to repartition the new harddrive and then start the cloning again.

Could anyone help me with a similar issue? I cannot get my aspire 5315 past the blue screen that says run chkdisk /f for errors. the bios screen comes up and I have tried every option available, even in the advanced settings and still nothing. I am unable to run chkdsk for errors. I bought 2 recovery disks hoping they would help but I cannot get them to operate with the issue at hand. There's gotta be a way to get past that blue screen...any ideas out there?

Use a windows disc and boot it. Let it do a repair install!
