Unfortunately, Video Cards on laptops can not be upgraded....

As of yet - sooner or later they can but unfortunately, you are stuck with the go5600. Unless you buy a new one of course...

Not sure about the DVD writer though..

    Goodluck

It may be possible to upgrade the drive. Couple of issues are the bezel not fitting and the firmware. Sometimes the bezel on the new drive does not fit the old one. It may be possble to swap or reshape it depending on your skill level. Second issue is the firmware. Laptop drives do not have jupmers like desktop drives. It is set by the firmware or switches inside the drive. If your laptop needs slave and the drive is master, it won't work. You may want to consult with Acer as to what they consider a user upgradeable part. Memory and hard drives are generally considered user upgradeable. Optical drives may or may not. Taking apart your notebook may void the warranty. Good Luck.
