my touchpad has just stopped working along with the mouse buttons associated with it. it does not show up in device manager.

i've tried installing the touchpad driver but this doesn't seem to make a difference. does anyone know what i can do?

Try booting into Safe Mode and check the device manager. If you have any entries for it, try removing it and reboot into normal mode and see if it finds any new hardware.

You can also try checking the BIOS to see if you have an option to enable/disable the Touchpad. I know in my BIOS, it has an option to enable/disable Multiple Pointing Devices, maybe this option might help (if you have it).

If all else fails, try reloading the OS (onto another HDD if you have one) and see if it does the same thing, if not, then it's your OS/software that is causing the problem. Reloading the OS will then resolve the problem.

If all else fails, you may have to send the unit in for service.
