    I want to know if i can upgrade my acer aspire 5570z from its pentium dual core

    Thanks much...but the link that you posted on newegg is a processor type with a different codename...my current t2080 is YONAH while the one you posted is MEROM...does it make any difference really?

    You should check your laptop chipset using Everest Ultimate. If it is a 945 you wont have problems updating to a @667 fsb processor, up to a T7600. If it is a 943 (and often Pentium Dual Core came with this chipset) i have the doubt that you can go only with @533 fsb ones, as (if you want a Merom) the T5200 or T5300. If so, i am not sure it is worth updating (main advantage would be the 64 bit support).

    damn...i hope ur wrong...main reason i bought a 5570 z is to upgrade it...already got the memory and hd coming...just need a good processor with 64 bit support so i can work the 4 gigs...

    That's the same chipset as my Acer Aspire 3680!

    NorthBridge : Intel i943/940GML rev. 03
    SouthBridge : 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface Controller

    So I could dump my Celeron M 430 CPU @ 1.73GHz for a dual core CPU?!? :eek:

    my 3680 has the 1.6ghz Celeron and Im geeked because i bought a 1.73ghz Celeron processor on ebay...lol..

    Imagine how geeked I would be if I could get a duo-core :spinny: :D
