    Hi to all,
I'm a newby and an old scrote looking fo help with my Acer TravelMate 4100.

All my sounds and internal mic have worked fine on all of my music,vidio,C/Ds and my external freecom and Skype.

I booted my notebook up last week and a pop-up from Skype told me that my mic was faulty or not connected,(I have not used Skype for weeks).

I plugged my earphones in to check for sounds but nothing works and I went to:- Windows set-up to try to resolve but all the tools were were inactive.

I tried to restore to an earlier date and again the action was blocked so now I've got loads of silent music and d.v.d.s to go with my silent movies.

Can anyone help or advise (i can't swim)!

    Regards,
    lobbo683

time to take a look in device manager for those little yellow triangles :(
then the only answer to that is reload drivers

had you just run updates from MS and you have checked all is switched on and not muted.

i would re-install the drivers first then look else where.
good luck(i want to be a tree)
