the 8204 is shipped with a built-in 5-in-1 media reader. I have SD medias. what is required for the 8204 to read the SD media. I searched through the content and could not find an "adapter" for SD or for the other 4 media types. Suggestions?

Not quite sure I understand the question...

If you mean what do you need to do to read SD cards, you plug the SD card into the front of the 8204, and open windows explorer and there you go.

simply plug in the SD card right into the reader in front of the laptop? I tried but it didnt seem to have the proper fit, to loose, and winexplorer could see it. would i need an adapter for the SD card before the reader will accept it?

I own a 4402 which has the reader on the left side, and the PC card slot right above it. SDs actually fit quite tightly in mine, to the point where it's a bit difficult to get them back out! Perhaps a picture is worth 1k words?

No adapter required, the card should just slot into the top (assuming it's a standard SD card not a mini-SD or anything like that) it should push almost the entire way in, anyone tell me where I can put up a picture I can take of this.

When I insert an SD card into my reader (on Acer 8204) the card is almost totally in the slot. Only a very small portion of it sticks out. It takes some probing to find the right slot inside but once it's found the card stays in pretty well. It's a little hard to take out once it's in though.

ive used the built in reader and works fine, the end of the sd card when inserted shows about 1mm or so jus so u can get hour nail in the groove of the card to pull it out, u wud have thought that the 8204 swallowed it, but serioulsy its ok
