    overheating

    Hey guys my Laptop has got ventilation slot which blows out real hot air when it is Connected to the Adaptor.. the adaptor i use it provided my Acer Themselves.. i tried to keep a therometer near it and found the Heat wave was Around 50 DEgree Celcius.. why is it getting this hot?? i can also hear the fan running... is this normal??

    I also found that the Base of the Laptop where the Memory is kept is hot when i use the laptop.. gimme me any suggestions if u guys could.. or should i call up customer care?

    when it runs on battery there isnt a heat problem.. why is this so??

    50 degrees isn't that hot...nothing dangerous anyway.

    Go into the Control Panel, and change your power options to "Portable/Laptop". That will make the processor try to conserve power so it will run at a slower speed and voltage.

    We have the same video card - it's powerful but HOTTTTT. Most often this is what's making the heat coming out of the vent so toasty. To bring the heat down I go to the ATI control panel by choosing the "advanced" button from the "display settings" "settings" tab, then choose the ATI "powerplay" tab. Click the "powerplay settings" and move all of the tabs down to the lowest settings (to the left). You won't really notice a difference until you need to play some games, or like I did when manipulating some huge image files today. When that happens just go back into powerplay and ramp the card back up.

    Chaz is totally right about the laptop/portable setting as well. They both make my laptop really cool.
