I want to reimage my laptop back to the original manufacturers install when you get it new. The only problem is i didn't get any cd and i don't know which button to press. I can see the partition with the original image on it.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks.

Gotei_13, you can use the Acer eRecovery utility that was installed on your system from the factory to burn the recovery DVDs, or hit Alt+F10 on start-up to activate Disk-to-Disk recovery (might need enabling in BIOS).

Disk-to-Disk recovery was enabled and i tried the Alt+F10 and it did nothing so i'm stuck. i'll try Acer eRecovery utility later because i uninstalled it and will have to download it again.

UPDATE: I'm using XP on the old laptop and Acer eRecovery utility doesn't support XP. So now i'm really stuck.

Try getting an XP version of eRecovery from a different model.

If that doesn't work, then unfortunately you need to contact Acer Support to get a recovery DVD. It will cost you some cash, because as they will painfully tell you, you ignored the prompts to create your recovery discs when your system first booted up.

Out of interest, and if partitions haven't been too modified try:

F12 (boot menu and boot PCI option - the LAN Realtek boot and allow to complete - it'll fail to boot with No OS Found)

Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to reboot

Alt + F10 and see if the factory restore menu appears!

It's helped me out with an Acer One let's us know how you get on :)

    [EDIT]Have in mains powered too
